This is our home and most of our family members still stay here. We have 04 bedrooms for guests – two in the ground floor and two rooms on first floor for the guests. This is the first building to invite guests to Icchey Gaon. Traditionally built in wood and local materials, this building has a terrace view of Mt. Kanchejungha. Here, we have an open sit-out area and a small garden with a separate Dining area and kitchen.

  • All rooms with attached Western Bathrooms
  • 24-hours water supply
  • Hot water is supplied to guests in buckets
  • Outdoor sit-out area with views of mountains
  • Common balcony with views of Mt. Kanchenjungha
  • Transport arrangement for local sightseeing and pick-up / drop

Tariff (food + lodging)

We have also built a separate Dining Hall with our kitchen adjacent to the Dining Hall. Another great advantage is that the car reaches the doorstep of our new building, so guests do not need to climb stairs anymore to reach our new home stay.

You can take a downhill walk through the village road and reach Ramdhura anytime. It is a roadside village and offers a nice view of the Teesta River Valley and the mighty Mt. Kanchenjungha.

Kanchenjungha and is surrounded by pine forests and Cinconha plantation. It has similar altitudes as Icchey Gaon and is just 2.5 kilometers from our village through the Pine Forest trail. Like Icchey Gaon, Sillery Gaon too is becoming popular with bird watchers.

Unlike most of its surrounding villages, Pedong has a historic background too. There used to be a Lepcha Fort called Damsang Dzong in Pedong. You would still find the ruins of this fort scattered all over the pine forest of Pedong. It is beleived that the fort was built sometime during 1690 AD.

Located at almost 7000 feet above sea-level, Rishyap is perched within Pine and Rhododendron trees and is covered most of the year with mysterious mists and wild orchids.

You can take the canopy walk which connects one tree to another with a wooden rope bridge and have a glimpse of the forest from above. Loleygaon also enjoys a panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjungha.

You can visit the Bhutanese monastery of Lava in a day outing from Icchey Gaon. A clock tower admires the main town square of Lava you would also find the Neora Valley Interpretation Center here. A rough ride through the forests surrounding Lava would take you to the beautiful Changey Waterfalls.

A day trip of Kalimpong would also cover destinations like Dupin Dara, which is an observatory point offering a stunning view of the Himalayas, the Mangal Dham Mandir, Kalimpong Arts & Craft Center and off course the Gauripur House where Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, often stayed and composed his works.
